This Privacy Policy is maintained by Better18 to explain how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Better18 mobile application and related services.

- Swing videos you record or upload for AI analysis
- Round scores and statistics you log manually
- Feedback and messages you send through the app
Usage and Device Information
- Feature usage and interaction data

- Anonymous app crash reports
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide AI-powered swing analysis and personalized coaching feedback
- To track your golf progress over time and generate statistics
- To enable social features (friends, leaderboards, battles) when you opt in
- To process subscriptions and manage your account
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
3. Data Sharing and Third-Party AI Services
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, each of which is contractually required to protect your data with the same or equivalent safeguards described in this policy:

Google Gemini (Google LLC) — When you tap "Analyze Swing" or chat with the AI Coach, we send the following to Google's Gemini API for the sole purpose of generating coaching feedback:
- Up to 8 still frames extracted from your swing video
- Optionally, a downsized copy of the swing video itself (Pro/Lite "Tour Analysis" only)
- The club type, handedness, and camera angle you selected
- For AI Coach chats: the message you typed and your prior swing scores
- Lovable Cloud — Provides backend infrastructure, authentication, and database services for the app.
- Stripe — Processes web-based subscription payments securely. We do not store your payment card details.
- Apple / Google Play — Process in-app subscription purchases on iOS / Android. Receipts are verified server-side; we do not see your payment card details.
4. Social Features and Sharing
When you add friends or join leaderboards, those users can see:
- Your display name and profile photo
- Your shared scores, stats, and selected swing highlights
You control what you share. You can remove friends or disable social features at any time in Settings.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and edit: Update your profile, handicap, and preferences in Settings.
- Delete your account: Permanently remove your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete Account.
- Data export: Contact us to request a copy of your data.
- Opt out of social sharing: Disable social features or remove friends in Settings.
6. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information and swing videos from our active systems within 30 days. Some anonymized usage data may be retained for product improvement purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
Better18 is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for data transmission and access controls for our backend systems. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the router push or in-app notice. Your continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Better18 is built on Lovable, a platform that provides hosting, authentication, and database infrastructure. Lovable handles the underlying infrastructure security and availability. Better18 is responsible for the application-level data practices described in this policy.
